"In 2009 Ale Industries set out with a rebellious spirit, an environmentally-conscious endeavor striving to spread the blissful experience of a craft. We unapologetically refuse to let our beers be categorized into styles, types, or profiles because we believe it relegates our vision of craft beer from a verb to a noun, from a spirit to a product.
We pioneer brewing technologies to save energy and reduce waste because we understand that investing in the environment will nurture the communities we care about, allowing them to flourish and grow. Oakland, California is our home, where we aim to foster connections with our neighbors and friends."
Here is a list of beer description updates:
Year Round Selections
Golden State Of Mind (4.4% ABV) - Golden State of Mind is a Tea Beer constructed using local California ingredients, from the oats, barley and wheat to the fresh coriander, chamomile, and sweet orange peel. This gives Golden State of Mind its smooth, dry, bready malt character with earthy, spice notes and hints of citrus. A true taste of California in all its beauty, the Golden State of Mind is a Gruit – it is made without hops. Available on draft and in 12oz 6-pack cans.
Beast Oakland (4.5% ABV) - Beast Oakland is a crisp, clean, refreshing Kolsch-style beer with Noble hops that pays homage to the street culture and vibrant arts community of the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a collaboration with a grassroots clothing store named Beast Oakland, the inspiration for the beers name. Available on draft and in 32oz sealed-mini growlers.
Cherry Kush (4.4% ABV) - Cherry Kush is a Tea Beer brewed without hops and with fresh, organic, tart cherry juice. We blend the cherry with our Golden State of Mind for a subtle sweetness. Light, refreshing, and flavorful. Available on draft.
East Bay IPA (7.75% ABV) - Line up a dozen IPA's these days and you would be hard pressed to tell who is who and which is which. East Bay IPA stands alone, you will know it when you taste it. We use both Cara-Red and Vienna to give a beautiful orange hue and richness in flavor. If tropical hop bombs with depth and imagination are your thing, East Bay IPA has got you covered. Available on draft and in 22oz bottles.
Rye'd Piper (5.8% ABV) - Deep ruby red in color, this Hoppy American Red Ale brewed with Rye malt speaks to the hop-head in us all. Twelve percent of the malt bill consisting of rye malt lends an earthiness that compliments and balances the big caramel, chocolate and toasty malt flavors. Available on draft and in 22oz bottles.
Uncle Jesse (4.75 ABV%) - This West Coast Session Ale uses Columbus hops nearly exclusively, which gives this beer its beautiful, orangey, grapefruit aroma and bursting citrus flavor! Available on draft and in 22oz bottles.
Barrels & Uniquities Department (our special stuff!)
East Bayliner Weisse (4.5% ABV) - Tart and sparkling, East Bayliner Weisse is a funk forward lactic mutha that finishes clean with a touch of tropical fruit. Wheat and Pilsen malts were “sour-mashed” for 24 hours then paired with a touch of aged saaz in the kettle. The yeast lineup is phenonmenal: Brett Brux and lactobacillus are blended with California saccharomyces cerevisiae giving this beer layers of depth and a mouth watering, puckering bite. Available on draft and in 750mL bottles.
Aussie Kiss (6% ABV) - Aussie Kiss is our newest small-batch beer, aged for 8 months in white wine barrels, it comes fully loaded with ridiculous notes of mango and tart pineapple. It is dry-hopped with Australian Galaxy hops for a fresh, juicy aroma. Available on draft and in 12oz bottles.
Smash Tart (6.5% ABV) - S.M.A.S.H. Tart (Single Malt And Single Hop) is a tart pale ale that required us to choose the "Other" category for "Style" since we feel it doesn't fit into any other group. We chose Azacca hops to give the beer a burst of tropical and stone fruits. The acidity from the mashing process is being used as a seasoning, instead of the "main course" in this case as the Azacca hops strike a delicate balance between tart and refreshing. Available on draft.
La Niña Fresa (4.7% ABV) - La Niña Fresa is a spontaneously fermented Farmhouse Ale. It is brewed following the same process as Tepache, which is a traditional fermented beverage originating in Mexico City. The naturally occurring brettanomyces and lactobacillus on the skin of the fruit converts this ale into a wonderful and lightly tart, refreshing beer. Available on draft.
Pink Drank (6% ABV) - Pink Drank is the arguably the most Bay Area sour beer ever conceived - the secret formula calls for aging the beer "Hella Days" in oak barrels at our Oakland brewery and finishes with Cascadian raspberries. Available on draft and in 12oz bottles.
This Is The Shit That Killed Elvis (10% ABV) - Excess and glam is what this beer is all about, and it's loud enough to take down the King. 100% of the base malt is Gambrinus Vienna, with honey malt being the majority of the specialty grains used. The combination gives an amazing red color, bursting with fruit and berry notes. This beer is so big, we ran an extended secondary ferment which allowed it to mellow and mature. Available in 750mL bottles.
